Silvia's Dragon

Silvia is a friend of mine from Romania who loves myths and fairy tales. One of her favorite stories from her home country involves this dragon (who sometimes appears as a giant), usually seen carrying a mace. When he returns home from his travels abroad, he notifies his wife how soon he will arrive by throwing his mace the distance it takes him three days to cover on foot. This way, his wife will make sure his dinner is warm and his pillows are fluffed by the time he gets there.
